My name is Lisa Moore Mays. My husband Danny and I live in both Jupiter, FL. and Cashiers, NC. I, personally, have been coming to the Cashiers area, specifically, Lake Glenville, since 1965 at age 5, with my parents and little brother, Trip. What a childhood that was!! Every summer when school let out, we were packed in the LeMans wood paneled station wagon, heading to the mountains from So. Fla. Water skiing, skim boarding, swimming, camping, canoeing, making forts, running around the mountainside, being a kid in the safest, most beautiful place on the planet. Lake Glenville back then was an unknown and hidden gem. My parents basically had the pick of the lake when property hunting and purchased our land and partially built home (now called Moore Mountain Inn) on one of the very best locations on the lake... the big lake expanse with a direct sunset view. Summer days lasted until almost 9PM with that incredible sunset, and still do. In 1975, my grandparents built Mom’s Place up the hill from Moore Mountain Inn. They wanted to be close to us as we enjoyed our summer fun. And what fun it was, having our whole family together for 2.5 months of pure enjoyment, while escaping the south Florida heat. We could walk back and forth easily between the 2 houses, and quickly blazed a trail. Mom’s Place, like Moore Mountain Inn, is a family treasure which represents a happy family and many happy years.
In 1998, Danny and I purchased one of my parent’s vacation rentals, Dad’s Place, on the lake and renovated it into a log cabin mountain summer home. We, too, gave our kids a wonderful life with summers spent in the mountains and on the lake. In 1999, we purchased Mom’s Place from my parents and began our vacation rental hosting experience, with many great years of happy guests. In 2013, I inherited Moore Mountain Inn after my mom’s passing. With the grief that came from losing her and my dad right before her, I had one mission: restore their lake house and make it a place where other families can also have very special vacations and make lifelong memories. And that’s what happened. Moore Mountain Inn and Mom’s Place have always been happy homes, giving people warm, comfortable and welcoming feelings. In all these years, we have never had an unhappy guest in any of the many houses we own and manage.
In 2020, we purchased Caribou Cabin, situated on the north side of the lake. What a diamond this house is!! Situated on a green grass 2 acre lawn, just steps away from the lake, with a view of the lake and a direct view of the sunrise over the lake. Beautiful!! We have hosted many happy guests since 2020 and plan to keep providing 5-star experiences to our wonderful guests.
We strive to provide an A-1, full service, vacation to everyone who graces us as our guest. We go above and beyond nearly all other vacation owners and managers in that we are available by phone or text anytime, to help plan activities for your family or respond quickly to a problem if one pops up. We take enormous pride in what we do. Our houses are attractive, well kept, and safe. Additionally, the great part of living in Cashiers/Lake Glenville for all these years is that we know almost everyone, most as longtime friends. So, unexpected issues are repaired ridiculously fast, guest issues like car problems or medical needs get immediate attention, suggestions on hikes, waterfalls, or any other activity will be happily provided. Basically, we are highly attentive to guests’ needs and comfort. We hope you will stay with us and enjoy our beautiful homes as if they were your own and know that you can
