Caribou Cabin is nestled on 2 beautiful acres of green grassy mountainside looking down on one of the best views of Lake Glenville. This perfect location offers stunning sunrise and morning views, when the smoky, heavy fog slowly rolls across the water; until sunset, when the bright oranges and pinks reflect off the lake's surface.
Welcome to Caribou Cabin – your mountain-lake escape above the shores of Lake Glenville.
This beautifully designed home blends contemporary comfort with rustic charm, offering the ideal setting for both relaxation and adventure.
The Lake Glenville shoreline is waiting for you just a short five-minute walk down the gently sloping grassy backyard leading you to the private community dock and an inviting Adirondack sitting area where guests of Caribou Cabin have access to a private boat slip and two kayaks—ready for a peaceful morning paddle or an afternoon on the water. Rent a boat from Signal Ridge Marina for an hour or several days or bring your own.
On Caribou’s main level, you’ll find a spacious open-concept layout with vaulted ceilings, comfortable leather seating, and a wall of large picture windows showcasing breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The kitchen, dining, and living areas flow seamlessly together, featuring a large double-sided fireplace and creating a warm and inviting space to gather, dine, and unwind. This level also features two comfortable bedrooms and two full baths, including a master with a deck, gorgeous views of the lake and a spectacular sunrise! With its clean lines, natural textures, and thoughtful details, Caribou Cabin offers a true rustic-modern aesthetic.
Step outside onto the large upper deck, which also connects to the master bedroom and is perfect for outdoor dining, morning coffee, or sunrise and sunset views over the water.
Downstairs offers a private guest suite—complete with its own bedroom, full bath, kitchenette, cozy living area with a big screen TV, gas-powered cast iron fireplace and a separate entrance. It’s an ideal setup for multi-generational families or guests who want extra space and privacy.
The backyard fire pit has 6 comfy Adirondack chairs waiting for evening s’mores, storytelling, or simply stargazing by the fire after a day on the lake.
Caribou Cabin is a secluded lake house, yet is minutes from Cashiers and in very close proximity to Highlands and Sapphire.
Whether you're here for tranquil mornings, lake adventures, fun shopping, free outdoor concerts, or cozy evenings by the fireplace, Caribou Cabin delivers the perfect balance of comfort, style, and natural beauty in one of North Carolina’s most stunning mountain-lake destinations.

This rental was everything we have been looking for in a VRBO in the Lake Glenville area. The location was so easy to find thanks to our host who went over and beyond with clear communication of the property. The house was spacious and well stocked just like being in our own home. We enjoyed the short walk to the lake with our fur baby. We are already planning our next visits! Thanks Lisa!

Loved our stay at this property for a long weekend getaway. Very clean property and a great location well situated to explore Cashiers and Highlands area. Communication and information about the area was top notch. We enjoyed several of the recommended hikes.

The house is beautiful and very clean. Thank you to Lisa for being so communicative before and during our stay. Lake access and dock is great. Comfortable beds. Fantastic views from the deck. Everything we needed for a great week!

This area is gorgeous. There are a lot of trails and waterfalls around to explore. The kayaks are great to have to explore or fish on the lake. It’s quiet and peaceful. The upper level of the house is very nice, pretty well equipped kitchen. Amazing views from the living room and the covered back deck. 20 min from Cashiers which is quaint with groceries, some restaurants, a brewery, some shopping. Just a beautiful area all around.

Our experience at Caribou Cabin was a 10/10!! We arrived at night but our cabin notes from Lisa were super helpful and thorough (provided to us weeks in advance)! The cabin renovations felt brand new and done well. Beautiful gas fireplace, new kitchen appliances and farmhouse sink, barn sliding doors, beautiful bathroom vanities high enough for us tall people, and comfy bedding and beds! The view from our master bed every morning was so amazing that we left our blinds open on the full glass doors so that we could soak in every sunrise over the lake. The yard was huge and I loved that it is cleared and grassy so that we could enjoy the walk around the property and the amazing firepit. Hubby built a huge fire that we had to enjoy from the covered roof back porch on the last night because it was raining. Lastly, the downstairs apartment was perfect for our teen! She loved having her own space. By the way, the highlight of our trip was visiting Arrowmont Stables for a horse trail ride through the mountains! Lisa has thought of it all from the farmhouse chic renovations to the detailed notes on things to do in the area! Thank you for helping us make lasting family memories!

This home was nicely updated and was very clean. We enjoyed the fireplace and the expansive deck. The slope of the yard was rather steep- might not work for small children. The fire pit was awesome! Lisa was easy to communicate with…
